Graduation Day

There is just something about graduation day that makes it special and distinctly different from any other day; and it's just not because of the square hats and random hoods of color cascading down one's back - or is it?

For this strange apparel is really a garment of celebration; a bold "I DID IT" that all the world instantly recognizes.

For it symbolizes not only something that has been finished but that it has been done so successfully.  There has been no withdrawal from class or dropping out of the program; oh no, these garments are proudly worn by those who have persevered.

We the graduates are proud of our black robes and funny hats for it is in this moment between all that had to be done to get to this point and  all that is to come, that we celebrate completion and success. My mortarboard  is a crown of accomplishment!

But, even before this graduation is over, I already have my eye on another robe...

"Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude,
like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
'Hallelujah! For the Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean, was given to her to wear.'" Revelation 19:6-8

Can't wait to get that white robe!
And see you in yours too!
