Amazing Love!

Christ also suffered when he died for our sins once for all time.
He never sinned, but he died for sinners
that He might bring us safely home to God.

My Seeing Eye Friend

-
If you are blind, you need a Seeing Eye dog. If you are breathing, you need a Seeing Eye friend: a friend who sees clearly where you are blind and one whom you trust enough to follow their lead. I have many such friends, hopefully one for every blind spot I have and ones who not only make up for my deficiencies but who can see clearly what I can’t. I’m in the forest; all I’m seeing are the trees. I have one such friend, so if any of these words ever resonate with you, she is the reason they have been published for your eyes. She’s my favorite “poofreader” and one of many with whom I’ve shared my writings. There is something special about being pregnant around Christmas for no matter how frantic and frenzied everything gets around you your thoughts never get too far from the life you’re carrying within you. Be pregnant this Christmas. Yes, I do mean you… Be cognizant of the life you carry within you – in your heart. Remember that the relationship you have with the Savior is what those around you, harried in their busyness, are seeking. This season is all about peace, joy, and love. We, as children of God, know the truest meaning of those words. We have experienced peace in the unsure, joy despite long dark valleys, and love that is unconditional. We know the real reason for the baby in the manger. We understand that Christmas is really all about Easter. And Easter is all about God who so desires a relationship with us that He’d sacrifice His Son for our redemption. Christmas is all about the gift of God’s love. Birth that gift into your world this season.

Dear Carol, Forty-two years ago today you were a thirty something year old mom of four small children who'd probably dropped them off in their various Sunday School classes after the "fun" of getting a family ready for church on a Sunday morning... And then you went, not to be ministered to, but to minister; to teach five and six year olds about Jesus. I wouldn't be surprised if you left that morning after class and went about your day as if it were a regular Sunday, but it wasn't for me because it was that Sunday - Jan. 9, 1972 - that you told me that Jesus was knocking on my heart's door (Revelations 3:20) and you stayed after class and prayed with me because I wanted to let Him in. I've worked with five and six year olds, prayed with them and their sweet tender hearts - never knowing if they really understood  they were doing...but that day I did. You introduced me to the Lover of my soul. You told me He was calling my name and that if I would op...
